I'm not a fan of the 'Fresh' scent. This could be because it reminds me of the mixture of 'clean linen' smell and dead mouse. Yep, a LONG time ago I had a dead mouse in my car and tried to use 'clean linen' air fresheners to mask the smell (which at the time were the best smell ever), it only mixed the two by the way.
Now I cannot smell it without thinking about how that is how a dead mouse smells.
The unstoppables 'Fresh' scent smells very similar, if not identical to the dead mouse/clean linen smell.
I did try using it on my dogs blanket. I have a dachshund that was separated from it's mom too early and she has her own blanket in which she snuggles and suckles on ALL of the time. So lets face it, that thing gets NASTY.
Especially lately when we have started to become infested with fleas on the animals. Thank you, rain. We have four dogs and two cats. Thankfully we only have 5 rooms that have carpet and they are not rooms the animals are allowed in because I am pregnant and can't use a lot of the treatments for fleas. Good News is I think it is getting under control.
Ok, back to it.
Taking her blanket is always a big ordeal, not because she gets aggressive, but because she cries and waits outside the washer and then the dryer. UNLESS we give her a very similar replacement. She likes the fluffy blankets over the rest. At some point we obtains a tiny gray one that is the same texture as her big pink blanket, it's just not nearly the same size. It will usually suffice, unless she is cold and wants to snuggle under it.
I'm going off on tangents, aren't I?
The 'Fresh' scent only lasted a few hours after washing. That was even using the whole sample pack, using the laundry on extra small load, having ONLY the blanket in the wash, and using fragrance free laundry soap.
My dog didn't smell, the blanket just doesn't smell like anything at this point. I even made my kids go and smell it just to make sure my nose hadn't gotten used to the smell. Nada.
Although I can really complain because I didn't like the smell. It definitely doesn't last 'weeks' in between washes like it claims.
Verdict:
Not worth buying and trying out a smell I may like more.
UPDATE: I tried it on towels that have just been sitting in my guest bathroom, same result. They no longer smell like anything after a few hours.
